Fr Thomas Euteneur has
criticized a UN proposal for early childhood "comprehensive sexuality education", stating that it'll lead to hedonism. The UN says that it'll not lead to an increase in sexual relations, though common sense would seem to disagree with them. Fr Thomas said:
Condom promotion has not stopped HIV in the developing world. Propagandizing young children about a value-neutral approach to sex and telling them that they'll be safe if they use condoms is exactly how you get them to start practicing sex before marriage.
This is true. When you throw condoms at kids, describe how to use them and encourage their use, the kids are going to be more likely to use them! If common sense was a currency, the Church would be the richest institution in the world.
Well anyway, the UN will do whatever it wants and when it doesn't work, it'll try something even more drastic. The same principle usually applies to governments. Yet, ironically, it's normally the simplest solutions that offer the best results.
