Kansas pro-life groups receive death threats

Given the nature of the abortion issue in America, I suppose it was likely to happen. Pro-Life groups in Kansas have received death threats, presumably from supporters of the murdered abortionist, George Tiller.

However, whether or not the death threats are serious is another issue. It's most likely an intimidation tactic, though one can never be too sure.

So little time...

Hi all, sorry I haven't been able to write a proper blog entry today. I'm currently V. E. R. Y. busy, so time is short at the moment. However, after the end of this week, things will be fine again :)

United Nations imposing 'hedonistic values'

Fr Thomas Euteneur has criticized a UN proposal for early childhood "comprehensive sexuality education", stating that it'll lead to hedonism. The UN says that it'll not lead to an increase in sexual relations, though common sense would seem to disagree with them. Fr Thomas said:

Condom promotion has not stopped HIV in the developing world. Propagandizing young children about a value-neutral approach to sex and telling them that they'll be safe if they use condoms is exactly how you get them to start practicing sex before marriage.

This is true. When you throw condoms at kids, describe how to use them and encourage their use, the kids are going to be more likely to use them! If common sense was a currency, the Church would be the richest institution in the world.

Well anyway, the UN will do whatever it wants and when it doesn't work, it'll try something even more drastic. The same principle usually applies to governments. Yet, ironically, it's normally the simplest solutions that offer the best results.

Christian freedom in India

Christians and Hindus have been discussing peace and religious freedom in India, in light of the attacks Christians have suffered for a number of years in Indian states, such as Orissa.

This is certainly good news and very much needed! Though it hasn't been covered much (if at all) by the mainstream media, Christians have been persecuted by Hindu extremists for quite a while now. Perhaps it didn't fit the media narrative? Regardless, dialogue now is a good thing.

Australia bans biology programme due to pro-life connections

I won't to able to write much again today - just got back from London and am in need of a long, cold shower! However, I noticed this story about how the Australian state of New South Wales has banned a programme about life before birth because of the creator's connections to pro-life groups.

Well, naturally this sort of story doesn't surprise me anymore. However, it sounds like the nutjobs in the state of New South Wales consider the pro-life movement on par with some dangerous racist group. Of course, if the creator of the programme was connected to the pro-choice movement, there most likely wouldn't be a problem.

Ah well, patience... Truth always wins eventually.

Debunking the smears

I haven't much time to write today, and in fact I won't for the whole of this week, so this post will have to be brief. However, I came across this video which is part of a series on debunking the nonsense that anti-Catholics write and speak about. It's presented by Thomas Woods who wrote the excellent "How The Catholic Church Built Western Civilization." The first part can be viewed below.
